A recent survey of deaths related to the workplace done by the Connecticut Department of Labor found that 48 people died while on the job last year. This represented a 23% increase in deaths over the average number of deaths in Connecticut.

Two industries saw the highest workplace deaths per 100,000 full time employees. The construction injuries had 10.9 deaths per 100,000 full time employees. The next highest number of workplace deaths occurred in the utilities industry which saw 10.2 deaths per every 100,000 full time employees.
