Injuries From A Truck Accident Without Contacting The Truck

If you find yourself driving on I-84 or I-91 you’ll likely find yourself coming in contact with trucks. Our highways are teaming with these vehicles and driving safe around these huge vehicles can be tricky.  Did you know you don’t have to actually come in contact with a truck to be considered involved in a Connecticut truck accident?

Even though you do your best to avoid trucks while on Connecticut roadways, sometimes your best efforts can still wind up in a truck accident. Just staying out of the way, does not always lead to avoiding accident related injuries. Truck accidents can occur even if you didn’t see the truck who caused it.

Here are three ways that a truck can cause an accident without even coming in contact with your vehicle:

  1. The blind spots on large trucks can be very difficult to maneuver and not paying attention to the warning signs on most trucks can lead to an accident, either with the truck or another vehicle who happens to be in the truck's blind spot.

  2. When a truck is trying to come to a stop in traffic they will often need to brake aggressively. This aggressive braking can have ripple effects across the road and leave you with an increased risk of an accident.

  3. Often large trucks are carrying heavy cargo. If this heavy cargo comes loose and falls off the truck it can impact cars all over the road and lead to an accident.

Truck accidents occur too often on Connecticut’s roadways. If you or a loved one were involved in a truck accident, even if your vehicle never came in contact with the truck, let our experienced and knowledgeable team look out for your long term interests.
