Working Hard for the Hardworking People of Connecticut

What does TTD stand for in Connecticut workers' compensation claims?

When you experience a workplace injury you should report it immediately to your supervisor.  You will likely then want to file a Connecticut workers’ compensation claim that can help ease the difficulties presented to you by your injuries.

When filing a claim there are a variety of classifications that you can be entered as which will determine what your benefit will be while you’re unable to perform the duties of your job due to injury.  One of those classifications is TTD or Temporary Total Disability.

TTD refers to the benefit that you may receive if you are deemed totally disabled by a medical professional.  As the name might suggest this benefit is not intended to be a long-term benefit, but rather something of a bridge while you heal from your injury.  The implication is that you will eventually recover from your injury and return to work.

During your temporary disability benefits are calculated based on the following formula; 75% of your after tax and social security average weekly earnings.  The calculation will use your most recent weekly earnings rate.

Throughout the course of filing your claim you may find that you would benefit from the services of a board certified workers’ compensation attorney.  If you do find yourself in that position, contact our office and speak with one of our attorneys who will review your case.
