What Happens If You Return To Work And Your Injury Recurs?

It may be the case that after a Connecticut workers’ compensation claim you are medically cleared to return to your workplace.  At that point, it is entirely possible that your injury may recur and require additional time away from your workplace.  If this is the case, there are steps in place to report a recurrence of your injury.

If you find yourself in the position that you’ve returned to work and your injury has returned you will need to report the following information to your HR department or supervisor as soon as possible:

Original date of the reported injury

Original workers’ compensation claim number

How/when/where the recurrence occurred

Where you were seen for medical treatment of your injury that came back

Supply medical records to support the treatment of your injury

Once your supervisor or HR department has received this information from you, they are required by law to report it.

A board certified Connecticut workers’ compensation attorney may be able to help guide you through the process of filing a claim based on an injury that has recurred.  Contact our office for a complete review of your case.
